Holistic counselling + lifestyle consultancy

Being a human is hard. And, at times, it can feel as though we are being crushed under the weight of the world.
Stress. Loss. Loneliness. Anxiety. Shame. Fear. Regret. We all have our demons – big ones, small ones, old ones, quiet ones, ones that have been with us since childhood, ones that we’ve stuffed into the crevices of our mind in the hope that, if we ignore them for long enough, they will go away. But they don’t. They haunt us. They hold us back from realising our full potential. They alienate us from our body, our emotions, our purpose, our relationships. And we are left feeling lost, empty, stuck, hollowed out – without really knowing what’s wrong.

Holistic counselling offers you the space to meet your demons. To tame them. To learn from them. To shine light into your dark places and see there is beauty there too. It provides an island of relief in the chaos of daily life to explore your hurt, your grief, and your fears so that you can transform your pain into a gentle, loving force that allows you to live more fully, love more deeply, and feel more alive.

Most of us come to therapy feeling trapped – imprisoned by our thoughts, behaviours, addictions, marriages, jobs, fears, past. Holistic counselling is a place where you can begin to free yourself. It is an introspective, insight-orientated therapy that looks at the person behind their struggles. It is a space where you can ask yourself the brave questions: What am I afraid of? How am I betraying myself? Am I living the life I truly want to live? It gives you an opportunity to let go of the limiting stories you’ve been telling yourself. To get to know who you are beneath the masks you wear. And, if you need to, to completely fall apart and rebuild yourself from the rubble.

Holistic counselling is an embodied approach to healing and transformation which
integrates many tools and techniques to support physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. These include:
  • Talk therapy
  • Ayurveda
  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Journaling
  • Breathwork
  • Nutrition
  • Polyvagal practices
  • Spiritual counselling techniques (see below)

Holistic counselling can be helpful for the following:
  • Easing stress and anxiety
  • Personal and professional growth
  • Relationship issues
  • A nagging feeling of stuckness

When we create the space and put in the time, we stumble upon our own healing. This is the gift of holistic counselling. It gives us a space to get out own way, realise our potential, and reconnect with who we are, why we are here and what is scared.

Spiritual Counselling

Spirituality is broad and rich and deep and almost impossible to define. Ask ten people what spirituality is and you’ll get ten different responses. To some, spirituality implies a connection to a higher power, a universal consciousness. To others it’s intertwined with religion. And to many people, a spiritual life is nothing otherworldly but simply living with a sense of purpose, belonging, and wholeness. In practice, spirituality has very little to do with who or what you believe in and is instead about how conscious you are and whether you are living in line with your values.

Modern spirituality is composed of three components: self-evolution, self-actualisation and transcendence. Self-evolution is a way of being where we are continually growing, deepening and becoming more conscious. Self-actualisation is a state in which we are aware and awake, we know our values and our purpose, and we respond to people, situations and life as a whole from that place of deep meaning. Transcendence is the experience of wholeness, an acceptance and integration of all parts of ourselves – even the parts that are difficult to love. It is a way of being in which, underneath the everyday traumas and pains of life, we live with a deep, inner joy because we feel connected to and trust in something greater than ourselves. It is a way of living in which we treat ourselves, and each other, as sacred.

Spiritual counselling allows us to explore the practices nourish our spiritual health so that we can cultivate the connection and wholeness we all long for. These include introspection, creativity, honesty, empathy, courage, philanthropy, humour, appreciating beauty, questioning injustice, purpose, compassion, selfless action, and having faith in a power greater than ourselves.

Techniques offered in sessions include:
  • Talk therapy
  • Inner child work
  • Shadow work
  • Art therapy
  • Chakra therapy
  • Energy clearing
  • Ancestral healing
  • Cord cutting
  • Soul retrieval
  • Dream work
  • Body scans
  • Art therapy
  • Visualisations
  • Guided meditations
