COVID-19: DISCOUNTED + DONATION-BASED SESSIONS
As each day feels further from anything familiar and we are forced to step into the darkness of the unknown, many of us are feeling vulnerable, scared and alone.
As well as the pandemic of Covid-19, we are also facing a pandemic of loneliness, a pandemic of fear, a pandemic of isolation-induced depression. Over 80% of young people have said the pandemic has made their mental health worse. Nearly two-thirds of adults admit to feeling stressed and anxious about debt, job insecurity, home life and health fears. And calls to eating disorder helplines have increased by over 30% since the lockdown.
Perhaps, for the first time in decades, we are being forced to face the parts of ourselves we have spent a lifetime running from. Without our usual distractions, we are having to be with our pain.
The lockdown is shining light on our shadows. Both personally and collectively. Maybe old traumas are being triggered. Maybe unprocessed grief is surfacing. Maybe we are slipping back into unhealthy coping mechanisms and harmful patterns. Maybe the cracks in our relationships are turning into mighty abysses.
We are also being asked to face some of the bigger, existential issues of being human. Death. Isolation. Meaning. Freedom. With death tolls headlining the media, for many of us, this could be the first time we have come face to face with our own mortality.
Realistically, we are going to be dealing with the repercussions on Covid-19 on our physical and mental health for months— possibly years—to come. And I have been thinking about how I can be of service during this time. I don't know where we are going to end up—none of us do—but I know how I would like to go: Patiently, tenderly, lovingly. Together. All of us holding one another in an incredible web of loving-kindness.
Whilst it feels like a drop in the ocean, I would like to offer discounted and donation-based counselling sessions for those who are struggling.
Although unwanted and unknown, crises can be a catalyst for change. For the past decade I have studied post-traumatic growth—the way we thrive from adversity rather than remain devastated by it—and I have seen how we can embrace trauma as a tool for transformation. Right now, we are being asked to surrender; to let go; to open to a new being. We are all in this together and I would be honoured to walk the path of healing, transformation and awakening with you.
I work from a holistic perspective, integrating my training in traditional approaches such as Ayurvedic nutrition and lifestyle consultancy, spiritual coaching, yoga and meditation with my qualifications and experience in modern scientific disciplines including psychology and intuitive eating counselling. It is likely that sessions will include a synthesis of approaches but, for ease of understanding, I have divided the discounted and donation-based counselling sessions into the areas below.
Because of the lockdown, all sessions are currently done via Facetime, Skype or Zoom. As the lockdown lifts, I am happy to continue these sessions face-to-face from my home practice in Hove, Loving Ground.
For availability and discounted rates, please drop me an email.
I also have created some healing resources which you can access for free.
Holistic life coaching
Holistic life coaching is a whole person approach that focus on physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social health. It integrates various therapeutic techniques from talk therapy and meditation to nutrition and lifestyle support. Sessions either focus on a specific issue—for example, stress, anxiety, dysfunctional eating, and relationship difficulties— or on something more abstract such as cultivating meaning and purpose, developing a sense of belonging and worth, and feeling connected to something greater than ourselves.

Intuitive eating counselling
Despite research showing that diets increase rates of depression, body anxiety and weight gain, over two-thirds of us admit to being on a diet 'most of the time'. Intuitive eating counselling helps you discover there is something more powerful than food rules and diet books — your own body. Our relationship with food is a microcosm of our relationship to life itself and intuitive eating counselling helps you use your relationship with food as a doorway to a blazing inner universe. It gives you the tools to explore what is hurting, what needs healing, what foods make you feel sluggish and what foods make you feel energised, how to trust your appetite, how to make peace with your body, and how to eat in a way that is grounded in self-care instead of self-control. Intuitive eating counselling is an evidenced-based approach with research supporting its effectiveness to help those with diagnosed eating disorders as well as people struggling with obsessive dieting, body image anxiety, and emotional, comfort and dysfunctional eating.
