Hi, I'm NicolaI am a psychologist, writer, consultant and mother with a special fascination in the psychology of rest.
My research and writing focuses on the social and psychological barriers that prevent women from getting the rest they need and I love supporting women overcome these barriers through coaching and workshops, as well as through my weekly newsletters and via social media: @nicolajanehobbs. Bio
I am a sport and exercise psychologist and integrative therapist. My research focuses on the psychology of rest and the role of sport and exercise in post-traumatic growth.
I have over a decade of experience in supporting women's health and wellbeing through yoga, meditation and therapeutic practice, as well as supporting high-performance in professional sport and organisations. I recently founded The Relaxed Woman, a community devoted to supporting women to recover from stress and burnout through coaching and workshops. I live in Brighton and spend my free time baking, handstanding, adventuring with my son and enjoying a good book and buttery croissant. |
Coaching and consultancy
I specialise in supporting businesses in developing psychologically-informed products and services by integrating the best available research with my professional expertise to meet the psychological and emotional needs of product and service users.
This ranges from supporting companies to build fitness apps to contributing to the development of yoga teacher training programmes and professional development courses for coaches, therapists and wellness practitioners. I also guide organisations in nurturing trauma-sensitive practices in their workplaces and creating psychologically-informed environments that help employees to thrive. |
