Mindful Living Practice — Go On An Adventure
I used to think life was a race to win but, over these last few years, I’ve discovered it’s more of a dance with no rules and no finish line — more of an adventure with no map to follow and no wrong turns to take. There is only taking one open-hearted step at a time and seeing where you end up.
Part of the adventure of being alive is doing things you’ve never done before. To walk the wild edge of life — because you are never more alive than at the threshold of the unknown. These experiences ripen us and deepen us and are a doorway to meet parts of ourselves we would have never known existed had we stayed within the walls of our comfort zone.
This week, do something you’ve never done before — visit that river you’ve always wanted to dip your toes in, have a picnic at the top of that hill you’ve always wanted to climb, go to that art class you’ve been thinking about going to for years, sit down and start writing that book you’ve always wanted to write, wear that beautiful fushia dress that’s been hanging in your wardrobe with the label on for years because you feel self-conscious in anything but black, ask that person out for coffee you’ve been wanting to get to know since your divorce.
It doesn’t matter what it is, just do something that feels like an adventure, something that feels as though you are meeting a new part of yourself — unmasked, untamed and unafraid.
